Getting the brush-off sucks. Getting the brush-off from someone I traveled hundreds of miles to see pisses me off.

Me too.

Bron kept coming up with excuses not to hang out with me. Finally I got pissed off and asked her what was up - she said that she hadn't felt like we were "clicking" during this visit.
Ideally, I would have driven back down on Monday but I was in too crummy a mood to stick around.

I've come up with two provisional lessons for myself:
1) Make your expectations of others clear up front.
2) Don't wait until you're already emotional to talk about an irritation.
